Jomayra Herrera works on the venture investing team at Emerson Collective, a social change organization dedicated to removing barriers to opportunity for everyone. Jomayra specializes in the organization’s education technology investments. She spends most of her time identifying promising companies, driving the diligence process, and helping the team develop a point of view on particular parts of the market. Before joining Emerson Collective, she worked at an ed tech startup focused on transforming professional development opportunities for teachers. When she isn’t working, Jomayra sits on the board of Young Education Professionals. Jomayra was a 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 winner in education. She received her M.A. in Education Leadership and B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University.
